History
Constructed in 1980 with a $2.6 million grant from the Economic Development Administration, the Wenatchee Convention Center later expanded in 2009 to include the Orchard Hall and additional breakout rooms. This expansion brought the center’s total to 18 meeting rooms, with sizes ranging from 500 to over 10,000 square feet.
In autumn 2015, the Wenatchee Convention Center underwent a $3 million renovation. The improvements featured new lighting, an acoustical ceiling system, decorative illuminated wall panels, and carpeting in the Grand Apple Ballroom. Orchard Hall was also enhanced with new lighting, an acoustical ceiling system, fresh wall décor, and carpeting. Both the Lower and Upper Lobbies were revamped with new wall coverings, paint, lighting upgrades, and carpeting. To further ensure guest comfort, a new HVAC heating and air conditioning system was installed throughout the facility.
In 2017, the Center upgraded to all-digital audio-visual systems. The enhancements include ceiling-mounted E-Version Laser 8500 Lumens Projectors in the Grand Apple Ballroom and Orchard Hall, along with advanced touchscreen conference room controls in both venues. The Crestron touchscreen provides an ideal interface for managing all the technology in your conference room, streamlining and improving your control over audio and video. High-quality PTZ tracking cameras were also installed, which automatically track a person using facial and motion detection. Perfect for lectures or conferences, the Auto Tracker enables automated recording without the need for personnel, yet offers the viewing experience of a camera operated by a person. With Crestron Air Media, you can enter any meeting space and wirelessly present PowerPoint, Excel, and Word documents, PDFs, photos, and screenshots from your personal iOS or Android mobile device on the room’s display. Mac and Windows notebooks are also fully compatible, facilitating presentations and collaboration from nearly any device with ease. Additionally, 60″ electronic conference room displays were installed throughout the Wenatchee Convention Center to show the day’s events and floor plans.
On the Horizon
We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming expansion! The new extension will introduce 4,500 square feet of cutting-edge meeting space, accommodating up to 299 individuals. This space will be divisible into three sections, offering versatile breakout areas for conferences or meetings. The groundbreaking is set for May 6, 2024, with an anticipated completion in July 2025. Most construction will occur outside the building, but we’ll erect a temporary barrier in the upper and lower lobbies to reduce noise. Furthermore, starting November 2024, the Fuji and Gala rooms will undergo renovations and reconfigurations. We’ll continue to provide updates on this exciting development!
